Additionally, during registration, we request your email address, mobile number, and date of birth. Your email address is used for sending updates and important information. To enhance the community's well-being, we verify potential new members through a one-time text message. Your date of birth is collected to ensure you meet the legal age requirement.

We utilize cookies to facilitate your login, remember your preferences, and enhance your overall experience. Unlike most websites, we do not share any member information with third parties out of respect for your privacy.

Email notifications are sent to the associated account. You can adjust your email preferences and review notifications through our settings interface.

We offer members the option to verify their profiles, with verification pictures used exclusively for this purpose as required by the banking system, aiding in combating inappropriate content.

When you reach out to The Aftercare Lounge with inquiries, we retain your correspondence and associated email address for future reference. Any volunteered information, like surveys, is stored as long as it remains relevant.

**Information We Do Not Collect**

If you choose to support us financially, any personally identifiable information provided for this purpose is not stored in our systems and is solely used for transaction processing.

Membership is restricted to individuals aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect information from those under 18, and any underage accounts will be promptly deleted upon discovery.

**Information Sharing**

We hold a firm stance against sharing, selling, renting, or trading members' personal information with third parties for commercial purposes.

While we share aggregated, non-identifying data about community usage, we do not sell this information to advertisers or marketers.

We will only share your information under specific circumstances, including providing requested products or services, addressing illegal activities, preventing fraud, ensuring physical safety, or when legally required.

In the event of a merger or acquisition involving The Aftercare Lounge, we will notify you well in advance before any information is transferred, subject to a new privacy policy.

**Responding to Legal Requests**

We will not disclose your data without a court order. Requests from law enforcement without proper authorization will be rejected.

**Data Storage and Security**

To operate The Aftercare Lounge, we collaborate with third-party vendors and hosting partners for hardware, software, networking, and storage.

Data is instantly written to multiple disks, backed up daily, and stored in various locations.

**Data Security**

We prioritize data security during transmission through encryption and HTTPS. Our commitment to security is evident in encrypting profile verification images at rest, requiring a decryption key for access.

Although data is not encrypted while live in our database, stringent measures ensure its security when at rest. Database backups are encrypted using GPG.

**Data Retention Policy**

Upon account deletion, your profile becomes inaccessible to other members. Depending on the content type, it may take up to 30 days for permanent deletion from our database.

Account deletion initiates immediate processing. After seven days, your account is permanently removed, including any profile verification submissions.

Exceptions include messages in group private conversations and edits/comments on our wiki, where content remains but authorship information is removed.

For account deletions triggered by verification, an additional 9-day period is provided before permanent profile deletion.

Backups and web server logs are permanently deleted within 30 days of creation.

**Do Not Track Settings**

While you can set browser "Do Not Track" preferences, we do not track your online activity on other sites. Third-party services cannot track your activity on The Aftercare Lounge.

**Managing Your Information**

You retain control over your personal information. Manage and update details through your account's Edit Profile and Settings sections.

For data backups, use our export interface. Locked out of your account? Access the export link from the lockout page.

You can deactivate or delete your account anytime by logging into The Aftercare Lounge and visiting the designated page.
